The five-day course, delivered in a residential style by heliguy™ instructors, equips accountable leaders with the knowledge and best practice principles to run an effective and safe drone programme.
The specialist syllabus, developed by heliguy™ and endorsed by awarding body Training Qualifications UK (TQUK), is tailored to drone programme leaders, covering modules such as operational oversight, governance, hazard management, and risk mitigation.
It is designed to raise industry standards and facilitate safe, compliant, and successful UAS operations.
The course is different from the former Level 5 Award for Chief Pilots, with learning outcomes more suited and tailored to UAS operations management.
Drone programmes to attend the course so far include London Fire Brigade, the Environment Agency, and Network Rail.
The course takes place at the new heliguy™ Drone Training Centre, at heliguy™ HQ (North Shields, NE29 7SE).
