DroneControl update: New hardware tracking tool

DroneControl releases a fresh update, including hardware possession tracking. Watch the video to see how this new tool simplifies drone fleet management.

DroneControl has released a new update to provide drone programmes with even more visibility, reliability, and intelligence during operations - including a tool for enhanced hardware tracking to simplify fleet management.

Hardware possession tracking allows organisations to keep full oversight of who is operating what, and when - and the video above provides an overview of this new functionality.

Key features include:

  • Manual & automatic hardware possession: All users can now assign hardware directly to themselves via the portal - or let pilots automatically take possession when logging into the app.

  • Admin overview: A new team-wide view shows which drones and equipment are in the possession of each user.

  • User profile view: Individual team members can now see all hardware currently assigned to them, increasing transparency and accountability.

This update not only streamlines daily operations, but also supports stronger compliance and auditability across teams.

DroneControl update: Other features

Other features of the update include:

Weather for safer night operations

  • Live weather for night flights: DroneControl now shows detailed weather indicators to help determine suitability for night missions, in line with regulatory best practices.

  • Historical weather recovery: If your drone was offline or out of signal during flight, you can now retrieve historical weather conditions automatically when uploading the flight - ensuring post-flight records are complete and accurate.

Improved user experience

  • Dark Mode refinements: Better readability and contrast, especially in critical admin screens and flight views.

  • Bug fixes & security upgrades: Ongoing improvements to platform stability, responsiveness, and system integrity.

DroneControl FirstResponder app – Version 2.1.1

On the flight side, DroneControl FirstResponder V2.1.1 is out now with several important updates:

  • Automatic hardware possession: As soon as a pilot logs into the app, the drone they connect with is automatically registered to their profile - saving time and reducing manual admin.

  • Weather data at upload: If a drone loses connectivity during a mission, weather data will now be recovered when uploading the flight.

  • Various bug fixes & security enhancements: Reported issues addressed and system reliability has been enhanced.

DroneControl is a Swiss-engineered all-in-one drone, fleet, and team management software ecosystem, complete with automatic flight logging, and remote live streaming and control functionality.
